    City Council Meetings are the first and third Tuesday of each month, 7:30 P.M. Municipal Complex, 10025 Bunkum Road.

    The City Clerk is the keeper of the records, Ordinances, Resolutions and all other records which is required by Illinois Compiled Statutes, prepares City Council Meeting Agendas, records all City Council, Special City Council and Executive Session Minutes, and in addition he shall keep and maintain the following:

1)  Issues all licenses and permits, and payments made thereon.
2)  Record showing title, name, address and telephone number of all officers of the City.
3)  Record of all Ordinances and Resolutions by title and in their entirety shall be maintained and available to City Officials for review, in City Hall.
4)  Custodian of all documents belonging to the City, which are not assigned to the custody of some other officer of the City.
5)  The Clerk shall be the custodian of the City Seal and shall affix its impression on documents whenever required.
6)  Maintain an official calendar for municipal use only showing all duties the City must perform on specific dates by law.
7)  In addition to the above-mentioned duties, the Clerk shall perform such duties and functions as may be required by Illinois Compiled Statutes, Ordinances and Resolutions.
8)  Local Election Authority
9)  Voter's Registration.

    The City Clerk also serves as the City Collector. The City Collector receives all money provided to the City and forwards all receipts to the City Treasurer. Monthly and Annual Reports are made by the City Collector to City Council and the Annual City Collector's Report is published in a local newspaper.


 (Check the city wide calendar for exact dates.) Residents must call in no later 4:30 P.M. on the Friday preceding the pickup and must give a complete listing of items or complete the below form within the time frame. The following are some guidelines.

    The City will pick up the following:
  • Any major appliance
  • Refrigerators with doors and compressor must be removed
  • Air conditioners (compressor must be removed)
  • Hot water heater
  • stove
  • trash compactor
  • dish washer
  • washing machine
  • dryer
  • tv/vcr
  • microwave oven
  • tub
  • vanity
  • sink
  • toilet
  • furniture (couch, chair, tables, mattresses, boxsprings, dressers, etc)
  • carpeting (must be cut in 6' widths, rolled and tied)
  • metal sheds must be taken apart.
  • furnace
  • grills
  • lawn mowers
  • 3 or 4 concrete blocks
  • guttering tied in bundles and not longer than 6'
  • swing set (disassembled)
  • one or two doors or windows (not a remodeling job)

The following is a listing that we will not pick up:
  • Tires
  • Natural Foliage
  • No building or remodeling items such as wall board, ceiling tiles, paneling shingles, cabinets
  • No bags or boxes of items
  • No paint cans or hazardous materials
  • No Railroad Ties
  • No Fencing
  • No oil tanks
  • No propane type gas bottles

    Based upon the above information if you wish the City to pick up your bulk trash, complete the below form and you will be placed on the list automatically or you may call.

    The City Treasurers office serves as the custodian for all of the city's funds. This office is responsible for managing the city's cash flow, investments, general accounting functions, accounts payables and payroll.

    The City Treasurer is an elected position and the Treasurer directs the operation of this office. The Treasurers office staff consists of the following associates.

    The City's fiscal year is May 1st thru April 30th each year. The City relies on sales tax as the primary source of revenue due to our strong retail environment. The city of Fairview Heights is one of a few City's across that has “NO CITY Real Estate Tax”; this is a major benefit to the residents or our community.

    The current city budget is $19 million. The current budget includes funding for youth and senior activities, continued street improvement, public safety. In addition the budget includes $8M dollars in capital improvement projects including a new police station, storm water improvement and sewer expansion.

    The City treasurer's office interfaces with all departments throughout the city to ensue that we maximizing the use of city revenues for the long-term benefit or our residents.
